It's coming around to the end of the year, just thinking of the highs and lows

    Albums Of The Year
Pretty much an old school revival for me
Voivod - Voivod (I can't say enough nice things about this one) :)
    Overkill - Killbox 13
    Sepultura - Roorback
    Nevermore - Enemies Of Reality

    Gig(s) of the Year
    Anthrax, just hope it's not another 7 years before I see them again (89, 96, 03, 10?) :D

    New Bands (For Me)
Had my eyes opened to Nevermore and Opeth, I'm looking forward to hearing more from these guys in the future

    Old Albums Rediscovered
    Death - Symbolic
    Coroner - Mental Vortex
    Watchtower - Control & Resistance
Flotsam And Jetsam - Doomsday For The Deceiver
    Forbidden - Forbidden Evil

    Disappointment of the Year
Stanger. When I was a lad *** dream sequence beginning *** they were the best by a long, long way. Now they are a sad joke. I really wanted Stanger to be good, but it wasn't good. It wasn't even crap. :(

Nonsense, it's quality. Against and Nation, I'd agree, were pretty weak, but Roorback is very, very decent.

Also, I forgot to add Anthrax - We've Come For You All in the album of the year category. What a class album!!!

Johnny Cash not ever releasing another album

Not strictly true. American VI is coming out next year, as part of a box-set of all the American recordings.

I just hope he doesn't put out as many albums as Tupac Shazam and that fat fella after they died :(

Forgot about "Sing The Sorrow" - bloody good album.

And I'm pretty sure that since "No One Knows" was only released in June (and was the first single), that "Songs for the Deaf" was mid 2003. How time flies, huh?

Metallica gig was great. The only good thing that I can say about Linkin Park is good on them for staying on for more or less the full set. I wouldn't have put up with it.

I'll not say it was the worst album of the year, but my biggest disappointment was St. Anger. Can't decide what the best album was so far. Not a great year imho. Lost Dogs perhaps.

I heard their label had the studio booked for 2 months, and they recorded the entire thing in 2 days, and hung around playing the PS2 for the rest!

Thats the Rock & Roll lifestyle folks. :ninja:

The only thing that album has going for it is that it is catchy, nothing more. It gets very very boring after a few listens.

    Albums of the year

    Rory Gallagher, Wheels Within Wheels
    Rodrigo Y Gabriela,Re-Foc

    Gig of the year

    DVD of the year

    Biggest dissapointment
St Anger, it would have come as no surprise had it not been hyped up so much before its release I would have just expected it to be crap.

I already had American and American 3, so I reckoned 4 would be good, as long as it didn't take the American 2 road. It's much better than his old stuff.

Gotta agree with you on those gigs of the year, there were a few other excellent ones too, like Fisto in the QUBSU.
