    I've been away for a couple of weeks. Checking through the posts and was pleasantly surprised.

    I've been around for a while now, and while we've always had good posts, and been kept well informed, we've never got an official line on any thing that mattered.

    Transcribing phone conversations to support was as close as this forum got to anwers.

    Then, out of the blue it seems, a technically minded knowledgable source hits our forum.

    Excellent. Answers to many matters that have been bothering us for a while.

    From my point of view, the Eurosport matter is a prime example - we ask for months - why? why? why? Its a good channel, why cant we have it. No reasonable answer from NTL. We all got frustrated, petitions were started etc.

    Then, an answer, they tried to fleece us, wanted too much money....
    Fair enough, case closed. Even if you dont agree with the decision, it gives us a valid explanation, more than we had before.

    Knowledge is power, keep it coming.

    I have similar contacts in my line of work on other forums, that actually end up being a group setup officially to respond on forums.
    I'm curious to know, are you officially sanctioned or just a helpful soul.

    Whatever, you are a breath of fresh air, and go some way to restoring some confidence in a service that, it must be said, is improving.

    No. I'm not officially sanctioned. I just feel that technically minded people like yourselves should have some idea of what goes on in the company. Obviously, there are things I can't tell you due to company sensitivity. I only tell you things that may explain faults that you, the fare paying customer can see. Fair enough, I let you know about the new channels that came on-line last week a few days early but that was no big deal. If I come across a post that I shouldn't answer due to company secrecy laws or if I simply don't feel like it, then I'll just keep away from it. I may not even reply in any way. I'm not being ignorant. It just means I can't get involved or don't want to get involved in that particular topic. I didn't even know we had a group of people set up to respond to forums. Some of them could be on this forum right now, for all I know.
    NeverHappy, glad to see you are relatively happy. And no, I don't have an ego about this. I only view it when I get a chance and I just want people to have some idea of what is going on on the network - things that our customers (my wage payers) are obviously aware of and sometimes annoyed at!

    I have to agree with you NeverHappy that NTL Technical is a breath of fresh air on this forum and has been an invaluable resource over the past couple of weeks. I think he or she is due a few pints at this stage! I know that I get really frustrated sometimes with persistant problems but by and large I also agree with you in thinking that NTL is improving slowly! Now all we need is some Interactive services on the Digital platform particularly the BBC and SKY channels and I will never have to consider changing to Sky Digital.
