The French GP @ Magny Cours has been dropped from the 2004 calender, however, it is to return in 2005 with a new 5 year deal.

This deal has supposed to have been agreed by both parties.

It may not be a bad thing to drop the French GP for the year, the calendar will be interesting enough with the Bahrain GP and the new order of events. Still, I'd rather they dropped Barcelona- imo it's the worst race on the calendar!

i think like what was said in the WRC tread is what is needed for formula1 (where 1rally is held in a different country every year)!!! it would be great for other countries that have good tracks but never see formula1 except on telly

Rumours are that the Paul Ricard Circut (owned by Mr Ecclestone) may be making a bid to take it over, for this year at least.

Ricard is a great testing venue but the logistics of hosting a GP there would be a nightmare. If Bernie E thinks about it, having F1 at Indy, Monaco and LE MANS would be quite a coup. And it wouldn't be F1's first race at the 24 hour venue...
