    3rd man's opinion needed,

I got a letter from wastemanagement that i put my trash on the street asking 150 euros for damages, when i clearly put it into the bin! probably somebody from the neighborhood took mine out and put his inside, cause the bin was almost full, let's put that on the side but what i worry is, they found my details by going through my trash and viewing my documents that i threw away, is that invasion of privacy? is it possible to sue them? i really don't have time to but still interested you know..., me and my friend had this conversation, he said if the lawyer is good they can be suid for invasion of privacy or something else he told me i don't remember the term, that documents still belong to you but i told him the opposite

Afaik it is not an invasion of privacy if it was outside your own personal property. When you chose to leave the documents/rubbish out for the trash you are divesting yourself of them and effectively making them public property.

A well known business man I know well uses a personal shredder at home to shred all correspondence/post he trashes.

there is so much fly dumping going on especially outside dublin where bin charges are more real, that there are many 'interested' groups checking mail and letters in bins to try to cut costs to legitimate dumpers that no dumping is safe anymore. shred everything you do not wish to see again is my advice for what is it worth.:D
