How do you stop word opening - Backup of .wbk

    Word 2000 / Windows XP

    Word is set to always create backup copies.
    How do you stop word opening them ?
    Have tried unassociating the .WBK extension but Word or XP just fixes it.... :(

    Why can't they just use .BAK like every other app on the PC has used for the last 20 odd years... am sick of seeing
