But, err, you don't really need a mat with an optical mouse? It's one of their advantages?

But a mat is more comfortable! Class sig by the way!

Get a black ice mat mate. They are the dogs dangly bits and won't cause any problems. You get bits of teflon to stick on the bottom of your mouse and it just glides across the mat. Sweet.

I use one the fUnc Industries double sided mat. Smooth as a baby's arsé.

Slightly worn down Func, + Silicon spray + MouseSkatez = super smooth. Like a hovercraft.

i'd use something with differenct colours and paterns, with all black or white the mouse(optical) will have problems, it will skip or stall

for the 46 euros you also get an intellimouse explorer which is a good deal. cos the mat on it's own is 26 euros so you get the mouse for 20 euros

Another vote for icemat here (you get padsurfers with it btw)

My only problem with mine so far is it seems to have warped.. I have to put a cent under one of the corners to stop it from wobbling. Aside from that great mat !

i read somewhere, they modded mouse's pads to slide better

    but honestly,

to pay 26 euros for a mat, A MAT!

i think it's just a waste of money, does the mat have a vital importance in the job that you do? are you a pro gamer, who takes parts in competitions and championships? if not, i think you just waste your money pal

i have Dell mouse pad, and i think that it's the best mouse pad that i have ever used, and it's only 3$

i mean come on man it's a mouse pad, nothing else

CyberGhost, em.... optical mice don't depend on different colours for them to move..... :) I have an mx300 on a black icemat and it's sex, soooooo smooth. I really like mine, though you have to give it a bit of a cleaning every now and again :) The mouse just slides around the mat which is great for gaming :)
My only problem with mine so far is it seems to have warped..
em... what sort of heat do you have it in!!! it's made from glass....

Oh and btw Henry_14 they're quite sturdy and if you look after it with a tiny bit of consideration it won't break.

Oi Bloodbath, keep your eyes of me mousemat ;) Get the black one, the white one doesn't look as good compared to it (imo). Friend of mine has it and it looks ok, but then again he does have a white mouse to go with it :)

see the problem with the one i have now is the mouse skips sometimes.....Which is very annoying! I think ill go for the icemat depending on my wages!!! so in a final note is is definatly a good mat for optical mice... ive the microsoft optical explorer by the way

well I would say it is, have being using mine for quite some time now and have had no problems at all. My mouse is an mx300 which is optical. To be honest, as mentioned before you don't even need a mousemat for an optical mouse, but between the mixture of glass surface and the runners they give you it glides perfectly and doesn't slip, well unless somethings tugging on the mouse cord :p

Just bought a black Icemat think Im going to get a func mat.

I cant help but think though that if it was the Func on Komplett ,that would be getting all the votes, as far as I know the func mat is much better.

Its also got to be easier f u go to a LAN.

my €6 allsop cloth mousemat has served me well for months. it works just fine with my MS explorer 3.0. Certainly feels better than just using the table top.

I'm using a clear icemat here, and a logitech mx300. Doesn't skip at all, I'd highly recommend this mat. Mouseskates reduce the noise as well as the friction..

Using Intellimouse 3 USB + Black ICEmat bundle from Komplett here. The mat took me some getting used to - very slippy :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,558 ✭✭✭CyberGhost

Have to agree with this. It doesn't make any sense to pay so much for something so relatively insignificant.
