My UK Sub, Sky+ Experience

I had an old Pace digibox on a UK subscription here in Dublin. It was never connected to a phoneline and the sub was paid using my ROI cc.

I purchased a Pace 3100 for £199 from dcsat.com (Their website price is out of date). It arrived three days later - well packaged. I connected it to to my quad.

I then phoned sky+ at 141 0044 8705 800 800 Having identified myself, I asked the girl to send out a new card to my UK address as my old box was unreliable. She checked with someone and then asked me transfer the card from my old box to the new one. Five minutes later I had movies and sport etc on my new digibox. (She gave me the Solus number so I could get a card for my old box).

I noticed that the sky+ recording features were not working. I got back on to them and asked them activate these features. The girl at the other end insisted that it could not be done without being connected to a phoneline. I explained that it was a private installation - not installed by sky. She still refused. I asked for a supervisor - She came back to me 30 seconds later and said that it ok and she would activate the recording features. Two minutes it was up and running.

yeah I have a UK sub here in Wicklow with Sky plus working grand-no phone line obviously.

Had none of the hassle you had regarding turning on the plus features :)

Sky really are a hit and miss crowd. if you hit a dead end with an operator it is best to hang up and ring again. some of their operators have totally different views on what is policy and what is not
