I'm just after getting back from this great interview in The National Concert Hall. It was a very interesting interview from the brilliant yet modest Armstrong, one which I feel was well worth attending despite the fact that I'm not a big Byrne fan. Byrne managed to carry the interview well though and asked some very insightful questions relating to all aspects of Neil's life. Armstrong paints brilliant pictures of what it was like bouncing around on the moon, how he managed to get from test pilot to astronaut and the development of the Apollo program. The programme will be shown on RTE in a few weeks in a 50 minute slot (the interview was well over an hour and a half so I'm not sure what will be cut) and I highly recommend that you watch it.
Afterwards the floor was opened up to the audience where there were some insightful questions but accusations that the landing was a fraud felt very bitter and annoyed me a lot and I feel that it was a bit disrespectful to bring that up after Armstrong had done such a great interview. Overall though it was great and I definitely recommend that you watch it when it's on.

Nope, there was loads of RTE boxes outside and two cameras in the hall filming it. I don't know about the Seve Ballesteros and John Major interviews but considering Byrne said they were part of a series of TV interviews I can only presume so. I'm not sure who else is going to be interviewed in the series though, Armstrong will be a hard act to follow.

The John Major interview will be radio only.
He specifically asked that there would be no camera's at the interview.
