Seen a few S-ATA 150 hd's that are around the the same price as the equivilent P-ATA devices. just wondering what advantages the S-ATA drives have other than just having an narrower cable?

Also can you run S-ATA and P-ATA hds tandem?

    Higher Transfer Rates.
    SATA 150Mb/s
    ATA-133 133Mb/s
    ATA-100 100Mb/s

    Thats essentially the only difference.

Ya can use both types in a PC

SATA will eventually deliver superior bandwidth to PATA. They're about on par right now.
You can use PATA and SATA in tandem and some motherboards even let you make RAID arrays across the various channels :D
If I was buying a new HD I'd go with SATA, they're just so tidy :)
