Printing from unusual negativ

Hi all,
A question to the wise (was advised to post here by a friend who uses this forum).

To cut a long story short, I have inherited a number of negatives of paintings by artist uncle that I want to get printed up to roughly 12 x 12 inch size. Basically, the negatives are about polaroid size, transparent with exact colours of the paintings showing through (I am informed these are known as large format slides).

I am also aware that I could either have them printed directly from the negatives or have them scanned and printed.

Anyway, if anyone can give me direction as to the best approach to take and where would be the best place to get this sort of work done (for best, read cheapish!!), I'd be much obliged. Also, if anyone has an idea of price, that'd be even better.

You will need to bring the trannies to a pro lab.

It won't be cheap to have your large format (probably 4"x5" by the sound of it) negs/slides scanned. Expect to pay approx. €30.00 plus VAT each for 50MB+.

Printing should be around €15.00 plus VAT for a 10"x12" print.

Thanks Samson - primary colour has been suggested by a few people. I'll give them a whirl
