NEWBIE How do I fit a second LNB to a LIDL dish

Ok I have a Lidl Analouge system (80 cm dish) with a Panasonc digibox and I want to be able to watch both Astra 2 (28 East) and Hotbird (13 East)

What do I need to add a second LNB to my dish and where do I get the stuff

Ive seen ads for "multi LNB holders" but they seem to speify a particular brand of dish (e.g. Triax Orbital etc) is there a standard fitting or does the holder have to be for my specific brand of dish

Mike, ive been trying to get my head round the same problem for the last while. Both watty and greenman had provided info re. diy setup but i dont want to tackle doing it this way cos by the time i get them all in place, im sure i wouldnt get them fixed securely enough what with the galeforce bombardment this dish has been taking.

I have trawled all the sat shops and cant get a definite answer as to whether some of these multifeed lnb holders are compatible with the Lidl dish. But for the sake of €8 euro, i think i'm going to order one of these
and if it doesnt work, then im only down a couple of yoyo...

Those attach to the neck of the lnb, so it doesn't matter what brand of dish you have (except a minidish which uses non-standard lnb's)

If you are getting a holder that attaches to the arm of the dish then measure the shape and size of the current holder or bring it with you to compare.

Watty's photo is out of date. He has a Gale resistant LNB bracket from www.satcure.co.uk

(The Dish will blow off pole first).

The only difference is that as the dish gets bigger, usually a bigger LNB separation is needed for the same satellite positions.

Or putting different: On a 80cm dish with LNB side by side the satellite spacing is about 5 or 6 degrees. With 1.2m Dish the minimum satellite spacing might be 2 to 3 degrees.

If you look at www.lyngsat.com you will see that at 0.5 degrees spacing the satellites are regarded as being at the same place (i.e. Intelsat and Thor or Astra 2A and Eurobird) and that the typical minimum spacing per "slot" is 3 degrees approx

    At East: 5, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19.2 etc.

Ok Ive phoned up two companies (satelliteshop in London and
    Artech 2000 in Berlin)

    Satellite shop says:
"What you need is a Triax-Lenson multi holder £15, this is only designed for astra 1 and hotbird, so to get the extra reach you need another longer multi arm to get astra 2, I afraid that's another £15. but it will work"

    Artech says:
"Shipping costs to the UK are €26.40" (more than the damn holder costs  )

Despite the postage costs Artech (only just) works out cheaper but I had to arrange the order by e-mail (The website is only in German)

    Thanks guys for the suggestions

I'm interested in getting some free French Tv, to help my language studies. My existing set up is Triax 54cm dish with Pace 2500 box, no Sky sub.
I've some questions- maybe someone can answer?

    1. As far as I can see, there are SOME free to air French channels on Hotbird. Is this definite, and what are they please?

    2. Will I be able to pick these up using my existing dish (with second LNB set-up), or is it likely to be too small?

    3. Can I get anything using my existing digibox? I think that the digibox is good for 19.2- can this be confirmed and are there any free French channels on it?

    4. Otherwise, I need a free to air decoder tp pick up Hotbird- any suggestions?

    All help appreciated- merci beaucoup.
