    Hi All,

Can someone recomend the best 80mm case fan?...want something that is as quiet as possible, but performs very well. I have a lot of cooling to do (!!), but dont want to have to wear ear muff's when Im using the PC!!!....

Also, can you recomend any sites to purchase from that will deliver to Ireland at a reasonable price?....komplett doesn't have a great selection and any of the other sites that I have found are charging an arm and a leg to deliver (if at all!)

    Ta,
    Jab

Well just recently I ordered some fans from HiTiDE.ie I dont have them yet but when I get them (hopefully monday) I will tell you what they are like whatever you get dont get Zalman fans quiet means something else for them:p . Anyway the above site is good for fans unfortunately there selection is very small but hopefully it will get bigger, also you can use your bank A/C and just transfer money though the phone/net instead of a CC, handy if you dont have one!.

    How about.........

Papst 80mm ultra silent fan (Papst have a great name and specialise in silence) ...... HiTide (irish supplier)

    Or.....
Sharkoon Ultra silent 80mm fan with fully adjustable fan controller included (have these myself and you just adjust until you cant hear them..... good performance and silent) ...... Here (HiTide)

[edit] With the Papst fans if you have the power outlets for "Fan only" on your PSU then it will run them at ultra silent speeds and there definetly the way to go (mabye even the silent edition aswell for a little more air flow). If not then you cant go wrong with the fully adjustable fan.............

*whistle* that papst fan is rated at 12dba ... you just wont hear that .... the downside is of course that it only moves 20 odd cubic foot of air per minute, thats not a lot ....I suppose if you used a few you'd be ok

HiTide looked like a good site.....filled up my shopping basket!!!...and then went to checkout......couldn't pay by VISA!!!!.....whats up with that?....

Yea i was confused with that aswell, there a new company and you have to be in business for 1yr to get credit card facilities (a bit silly but thats a rule  ).

They will let you pay almost any other way and there very efficient and fast to deliver. I paid with a postal cheque, bank draft is very fast either......

Well you can use the old Phone/Net banking, which is what I use with them. It's p1ss easy and very handy!, just get what you want say you will pay with a bank transfer and go and transfer that money on the phone, BOI365 etc... and VOILA! that's it. Very easy very sweet me very happy:D !.

Easy, but adds a couple of days to the total transaction time?....

Cant believe that VISA are that thick?.....you have to be in business for a year!!!.....

Can you imagine the help section in a new web site....

"Dear customer, please dont buy anything from us this year. We have no way of accepting payment until next year. Please check back next year -- who knows, the prices may have dropped by then. If you order is urgent, may we suggest our compeditors site (see links section). Thank you for not shopping with us. "

    LOL....nuts!

Not a couple of days just one or two AT MOST if it's the w/e kinda thing......if there is no-one there to check you paid who cares if your payment arrives immediately or not?, your still going to have to wait for someone to get around to checking if you have paid or not.

pah! 1 video card?! maybe they're concentrating on cooling accessories. I'm looking for a 40mm fan, i want to mod the fan in my PSU. like jabaroon i'm not paying €20 - €30 for delivery on a fan.

Are maplin in Blanch any good for fans and cooling stuff?

but it is that way for internet business. When you have a "real store", a restaurant etc. you get it right away.

We are not very happy with that because a CC ist the easiest way.....

There are solutions on the web like Worldpay and others, they can give you a merchant account BUT: it is expensive, they charge you a certain amount on each transaction and this amount is very high.

So we have decided that we don't want to go that way. Specially in computer business, where the price has to be sharp calculated.

We are working on the credit card thing.... SORRY!!!

Concerning bank transfers: when you have an account with AIB the transfer is done within seconds, so we can ship in most of the times the same day. When you have an account with an other bank it takes two working days.

Again: We are sorry, but we are working on a solution.
(Maybe we should open a bank or a credit card company.
    Introducing the new HITIDE-Credit Card.... ) ;)

@quarryman: give us time, video cards are on the way, as well as whole computers, mobo etc. It takes a while ;)

    Regards,

    jow
