Why I got a Visa Card.

Just recently I got my first Visa card. I never bothered with one before because I felt I didn't need one. I preferred to save the cash for something I wanted and then buy it. Not any more. Now I dont have any intention of running up huge bills on it and I intend to pay off the full balance every month. ie Continue to wait till I've saved the cash but purchase with the card and then pay off the full balance with the cash.

Why?? Because I can buy virtually anything you can think of substantially cheaper on the net from abroad. Screw...supporting Irish business. For whatever reason they think they can get away with charging whatever they like. Guaranteed Irish! Yeah Guaranteed to cost more here then anywhere else in the world!! Thank God for the internet!

    www.cdwow.com.hk

much cheaper than cdwow.ie, and they are both posted from hong kong anyway

Watch those baxterd banks! They'll sneakily out your limit up (because you may not be getting the full value from your card!) DON'T LET THEM! Just request that thy put it down again.
    Helps to prevent splurging.

    I second this!

    Tis WAY to tempting!

And watch that slippery slope of NOT paying the **** whack of each month.

About that €40 - Ulsterbank have a thing where if you put over 4 or 5 grand on your card during the year they give you €40 back. Just a matter of getting into a habit of always using the credit card and paying it off every month (easy with Internet Banking)

i have to spend the money anyhow so at least this way I'm getting something back - for nothing
