Here's my situation. I'm a university student who's worried about job prospects for when I leave college. I want to try and get U.S citizenship, I might not need it but it might come in use some time. I've got two grandparents who were U.S citizens for thiry years or so, both are dead now. My grandparents son (my father) was born in Ireland and has not even been to the U.S, let alone apply for citizenship. Has anyone been through something similar and can give me some advice?

But basically, you can only apply for citizenship if one of you parents is a citizen. So you will have to get one of them to apply if they can first.
