I have about 6 small doves visiting the bird table in my garden, are there any wild doves in Ireland or am I feeding somebodies pet, little grey things, look about half the size of a normal pidgeon, ring around the neck ?

    Sounds like Collared Doves.

Have a look here to see if this is what you're after.

Those collarded doves always look like they're asking for it!
Back home in the country, there were a couple who used to fly around my fathers house. Pretty little things they are too. Used to sun themselves in the garden most mornings and were quite tame. They looked like they didn't have a bother in the world.
If there was a cat around he would have made light work of those dozing dove.
So, I'm surprised to see any of them still around.
