    Folks,

I want to dump Sky and go FTA.

I have a Pace digibox and a dish about 2 years so am out of contract.

What do I need to do - in big dirty thicko terms?

I know I need a card of some type - My existing card has the wee little yellow house on it which I got about 2 months ago - The old card was binned ( which also had a wee yellow house ).

Simply Ring Sky and give them one months notice to end your sub with them.

They will try to fob you off with various programme advisors but hold your ground and demand to be switched off.

As regards what channels you will have after that, simply take your card out and re insert it now upside down and this will give you the default UK EPG.
The channels you see on doing that are those that you will be able to watch without a sub.

Keep your card when you end your sub and put it in upside down otherwise you'll be stuck with the Irish programme guide and list without news 24 and the other bbc channels.
It's so much handier to have them in the guide than to have to tune them in manually.

    Ya big THICKO :D:D:D

To go FTA all you need to do is ring Sky and tell them you want to cancel your subscription. They will disable your card (may take a month - but don't think so any more). Once this has been done and the channels are scrambled take out the viewing card, put it back in upsidedown and unplug the digibox for a minute. Plug it back in and you shoud get a few error messages, these can be ignored. You should then have the FTA EPG which lists BBC1 at 101, BBC2 at 102. See the FAQ for all the other channels you will get. You do not need to get another card (unless you are thinking about the new FTV cards that are available - these will also get you ITV, Channel4 and five).
