xp pro cd-r problem

hey, recently put xp pro on my system, was prepared for some hardware conflicts, and drivers off the net solved almost everything, however neither my cd-rom or my cd-rw will read cd-r's now.... it's odd, and annoying! i've tried the available xp drivers off the net and i have emailed both companies and received no reply…

hey, recently put xp pro on my system, was prepared for some hardware conflicts, and drivers off the net solved almost everything, however neither my cd-rom or my cd-rw will read cd-r's now.... it's odd, and annoying! i've tried the available xp drivers off the net and i have emailed both companies and received no reply either, heh, yipee! or something! no wait! that aint good! anyone got any ideas? thanks.
