Does anyone know why TV3 are still running the "vote for Alan or Grainne" crawler when the voting closed last week ? At least according to the IFTN website it did.
    http://www.iftn.ie/awards/vote.cfm
Then again, according to the website it closed on Thursday 24th of October.... which was eh, Friday !

Well as they only have 4 nominations they have to milk it (I include watermelon)

Incomparison to TG4 which have 12 or so.

Why is Ireland AM nominated as Best Lifestyle???

Ireland AM is nominated for Best Lifestyle Programme because it is the only home produced breakfast television programme in Ireland. This is despite the fact that it is s**t and would normally never be considered for an award!

    Please edit:-

Ireland AM is nominated for Best Lifestyle Programme because it was the only home produced show outside The News that TV3 produce and until Eamon Dunphy is able to be nominated for an award IFTN does not want TV3 to fell left out.

Next Year TV3 will have nominations as follows:-

    Best Lifestyle:-
    Ireland AM

    Best Factual:-
    The Dunphy Show

    Best Current Affairs:-
Adgenda (Suprised it isn't there this year)

    Personality of the year:-
    Eamon Dunphy
    Alan Cantwell

TG4 will still continue to make orginal TV and would blow TV3 and RTE out of the water if it was in English.

Once the Dunphy Show is able to be nominated next year why do you still think that Ireland AM will be nominated in the Best Lifestyle category if the reason I gave isn't correct? And why are you answering your own question anyway?!

    GOE GOE MARTY!!:D

    Retorical (sp) question.

Because TV3 would need more then 5 nominations to feel like a totally Irish Independent Station and not ITV Ireland.

Hmm, Prime Time got four nominations in the current affairs category (is that fair)? No wonder it won! Did Spotlight or UTV Live Insight not merit a nomination?

Miriam O'Callaghan as TV personality of the year???? Oh well, its a step up from awarding it to a computer generated charcter like they did last time around...

Have to say well done in the film categories to both Veronica Guerin and Intermission, which well deserved the UGC (note Irish Independent, the cinema UGC not the university UCG, or NUIG as Cloud will no doubt remind us it is now called) Film Award and Irish Film of the Year respectively. Pity The Actors couldn't have been recognised also - am I the only one who enjoyed that film.

And never let James Nesbitt present an awards ceremony again. Or at least give him a better speech writer...
