    I have to say, Private number really is mankinds most useless invention to date. I've been getting a bunch of girls ringing me for the past hour telling me about radiators and whatnot, wheras Im trying to play fifa2004.

    Anybody else ever get one of those days where they dont stop ringing?

    But on a lighter note, private number was turned off on one of their phones when they just rang last, so please do ring this number;

    <ah bold! Phonenumbers snipped. DeV.>

    My answering machine says" Hi I not here but if you have your number withheld i am and just not answering, unhide your number and i might answer"

    Works people never ring me with their number withheld.

    Ughhh, one of my friends has his home number witheld and its really annoying because Im always relucant to answer.

    Last time I got pranked, some guy was asking me if I know Anto and if I'd sell him some coke. We had a 10 minute conversation about price and where to meet up (at the Molly Malone Statue on Grafton St.). It was kind of sad towards the end, when I could tell he realised he was wasting credit but didnt want to hang up probably because of his friends.

    Also his 'knacker' accent was so depressing.

    If someone ever pranks me(think the above was the only time) or someone in my company, I just take the phone and keep them on it as long as possible, waste their credit and time. I get a laugh out of it, and usually end up pissing them off and ripping the piss out of them.

    A mate of mine used to get prank calls at home the whole time..
    so he got one of those air horns ya see at footie matches, the
    ones that sit on top of pressurised cans of gas and just blew it
    down the phone..

    Nearly deafened the guy at the other end apparently..
    the guy totally lost the rag and started calling him
    every name under the sun.. when my mate burst his hole
    laughing at yer man, he just hung up and never rang again..

    Might be worth a try.. :D

    I can't see how that would work, a phone only has a certain level of volume

    No, the most annoying thing is Nokias when they ring someone when their unlocked in your pocket!!

    And prank calls suck as well, I try to use the policy of not answering to Private Numbers, but seeing as most of my family has private number on, i have no choice :(

    yeah, surely it'd just clip if you did something that's louder than the mic/speaker capabilities???

    RE: I can't see how that would work, a phone only has a certain level of volume

    Use a high pitched whistle to send an irritating tone down the line - though whisper first to get thier ear closer

    something less than 3KHz obviously ..
