Went to see Jack L last night in Spirit. Admittedly I didn't know exactly what to expect but it was a great show. In his current show which lasts another 4 weeks, Jack L sings the music of Jacques Brel. The music is like a cross between the Divine Comedy and a small bit of Queen at times. The setting is quite small, and it wouldn't seem out of place for Mike Myers 'Harriot' to be performed on stage. The performance of Jack L and the band is fantastic, very energetic and he gives a sense of real involvement with the songs. It's great to listen to song after song that you've never heard before and enjoy every one of them.

    Well worth a visit.

All in my opinion of course, cheers for the tickets Kev

I'd have to agree with the man. Jack L is quite the performer. Familiar with Jack L and his style but the Jacques Brel tunes gave an interesting twist. The theme of the night was love, sex and death so it was an interesting cocktail of smoochie swing, jovial jazz, tantalising tango and morbid mambo!

Anyhoo, in short, great gig, highly enjoyable.........except for the company! Definitely could have done with being of the opposite sex, considering the setting was seated and candlelit!

He does a pretty excellent drum solo towards the end of the show. Well worth a watch.

Don't fret Peace, tickets are still on sale at

Be careful if you do go though, between yourself and Jack.......... all that attitude in the same room could prove hazardous to the other attendees. ;)
