The president of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland has called on the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Dermot Ahern, T.D., to issue a policy direction on broadband pricing in order to simulate take-up in the Irish market. Speaking at the annual President's Dinner in Dublin on Wednesday, Alan Farrelly said that the technology is important for continued economic prosperity, and he described broadband as a key component of the national spatial strategy. Farrelly's claim that a monthly price of EUR50 is too high comes on the back of media reports which suggest that Ahern may try to force Eircom to cuts its price to around EUR30 per month.

nevermind. I thought he was saying 50 a month for accountants was too high! The title of the thread confussed little 'ol me.

The more pressure that is put on the government and eircom to reduce prices the better.
