    Hee hee, just been to liverpool where in one particular place (the blob shop)* pints of fosters/carling/stella were £1.25 and bottles of the new delicious carlsberg export were £1.25 also. Fantastic !

    Generally though you pay about £1.70 per pint.

    Weekend worked out like this;
    Ferry (seacat) = €~35 return
    Decent enough hotel (the adelphi) = £104 for two nights for the room, i.e. with girly or mate it halves the price for you.
    All you can eat chinese £5 for lunch buffet, £10 for evening buffet (same selection of food but dearer at night)
    Then the beers, specials all over the place, places to note are wetherspoons, the crown, the blob shop*....ad infinitum.

    Great place, it was my third time over there in two months and I'm no spring chicken, 28years !

    *= seriously that's the name of it !!

    Big Liverpool FC fan myself so I've been over a good few times. I love the place and there are some great bars and restaraunts. Very cheap beer. A lot of place have 2 for 1 offers like 2 bottles of Smirnoff Ice for £2. So basically €1.45 each as apposed to €6 in some places here. Even for just the one it's only €2.90. Hotels are very cheap compared to here too because most of them only charge for the room whereas most hotels in Ireland charge per person. Liverpool is one of the many reason I set up ripoffireland.org because everytime I come home from there it depresses me to see the prices we are charged here.

    I hear ya. It's the exact same for me, so much so in fact, that I know refer to Ireland as "shi tland" I despise the way we are over-charged in this country.

    Good work with the site.

    Just outside central London I was paying £1.09 for me 33Cl bottle of Stella (the Belgian Import stuff) in a Wetherspoons boozer.

    I hope they go nationwide here, I really do ! Guinness in Ireland apparently will not deal with them but Beamish is sound porter, especially at the prices Wetherspoons charge.

    When over in Derby at a festival recently I was able to drink myself silly for a fraction of what the same nights out there would have cost me even with the weak Euro versus the British Pound.

    Cost me 1:90 a pint for most beers.

    I'm currently drinking Erdinger Dunkel Weissbier actually.

    What does a 33CL bottle of Stella cost in a Dublin boozer these days? We could start an index of prices based on the 33CL Stella, it is so widely available .
