I'm looking to get a delay pedal (for guitar) soon enough. Is there anything which can compete with the Boss Stereo Delay?

no practical experience with delay pedals but have heard the Boss digital used many times and it sounds pretty bitchin'.

    here's some semi usful links

    one link

link two - reviews of probably every guitar pedal ever made

Boss delays are generally viewed as the best pedals short of going for a half or full rack.
They're cheaper than most "boutique" delay pedals and sound just as good, probably better.

I was fortunate enough to have found a Boss DD-2 on BuyandSell.net , some dude sold it to me for 50 euros! As soon as i got it i felt like Dave Murray on Live after Death :D

Read the reviews on Harmony Central before you buy.

I looked at a heap of delay pedals and i decided to go for the boss rv-3 its a reverb and delay in one... i wouldn't be into mad delay times like 5 seconds or whatever... the reverb is not outstanding but it does the job... the rv-3 takes other effects quite well too... i have heard the new dd-6 is awesome too

The Boss Digital Delays (RV-3, DD-3 and DD-5) are good pedals, and you'll get great delay sounds.
However, the best delay pedal available is the Line6 Delay Modelling unit.
All the delays you could want, including reverse, and it's got a 16 second phrase sampler, which can be used to astounding affect.
    Superb pedal...

Thanks everyone. I think I'll just go with the Boss DD6 or DD3.

The Line 6 is €309 from Thomann, which is about double what I'm ready to pay.

Good decision. I find that altohugh the line 6's have great scope for playing, the single processor in it just doesnt sound as good as a nice boss pedal. Saying that though boss is the only gear i use. So im biased.

Ure real problem is getting to grips with using delays well. Theres one thing being able to get it to go dink dink dinky dink and actually being able to create a good sound and get ure timing right.

    Good Luck.

Yeah, it takes a while to get to grips with controlling delay, but once you do, you'll be delighted you bought one, and you can't go wrong with the Boss...
