Heading to Brussels in a few weeks time. arriving about 8.pm on a Saturday and leaving on a Monday afternoon.
Anybody know of any reasonably cheap, decent pubs ?
Also, any suggestions on how best to spend the Sunday?
Is there a Sunday market, if so, where? Where would I find out about tours etc.?We're staying in the Vendome Hotel on Grand Place. All suggestions welcome.
    Thanks.

There's usually a festival of some sort in Grand Place each weekend.

I went to a Sunday market, dont know where it was on but a bit from GP, full of fugees and general shíte.

There are tour's operating from outside Gáre de Medi (central station), bring you all the way around the city and up to the big atom (cant remember the name - somethingdome).

As for pubs, there's a decent Irish bar a taxi ride from GP, 'The Wild Geese' - I'm pimping it 'cos the brother work's there. All taxi driver's know it. Theres one close to GP, O' Reilly's I think the name is. They do the full Irish each morning aswell.

Btw, less than a minute from GP, there's a small side-street (full of lights etc.) full of good, cheap restaurant's.

Bring a camera for Grand Place, there are some amazing building's there.

    Think that's it :)

I can second Bruges, lovely spot. Some wonderful pubs with great food (and better beer) off the main square, nice tour around the canals.

Wouldn't this thread be better placed in the Travel/Holidays forum?

(given that it requires some acrobatic skills to belong in the Ripoff Ireland forum)
