Deodourant vs Anti-perspirant

I tried using Anti-perspirant some ago and while I found it very effective, I don't think my body liked it. I got a couple of small lumps under my pits, I guess blocked sweat glands. So I switched back to deodourant. Problem solved.
I recently bought Gillette 'body spray', as I thought it was de-odourant, but the lumps are back.
Anyone else have similar problems ?
I don't like the idea of anti-perspirant blocking yer pores, which are supposed to naturally be unblocked. :ninja:

Anti-Perspirants irritate my skin Deodourants tend not to. Also I've found that rollons irritate less than sprays

thats what anti-perspirant's are for. they block up a few pores to reduce the amount of perspiration

I don't think thats how they are meant to work. I'm not fully sure but it coats wherever you spray it with a fine layer of the anti perspirant so when you sweat it absorbs it or something along those lines.

Anti-persperant blocks the pores. That's how it stops you from sweating and it is unhealthy to do that. You sweat for a reason. Stick to deodorant.

A lot of antiperspirants contain aluminium particles which block your pores and prevent you from sweating - so do a lot of 'deodourants'. Check the packaging for contents. There's a school of thought that thinks that the absorption of some of this aluminium into the tissue may be a contributing factor in breast cancer.

aye, it makes about as much sense as wrapping yourself in clingfilm to stop sweating.
just use deo & live with the sweat

Absorbs it into what?:D If it absorbs water it's going to get watery and drip (back to square one)

Carry a sponge under each arm. Squeeze it every hour and y'll be all right.

(in case the above comes across as sarcastic, it's not really meant that way)

I never got lumps, but I get irritable and itchy with some anti-perspirants.
