    What area ya lookin for?

Be a bit more specific with the type of work you are looking for, experience etc and someone here might be able to help..

Irish Jobs usually have a fair few IT jobs on their site.

Where are you based by the way?

There are very few unless you have exactly the right skillset and experience. Its a good time to hit the books and get some certifications.

IBM were looking for 10 graduate programmers out in Santry recently (i.e. within the last week) for C/C++/Java stuff - If its Santry and IBM its Lotus I guess.
    Graduate Software Developer

Business Area Description IBM Dublin Software Laboratory (DSL) forms part of IBM Software Group. DSL was opened in 1987 by Lotus Development Corporation, and in the subsequent years DSL has grown to provide expertise in Software Product Development, Globalisation and Localisation, Project Area Description Software development work on one of the development teams in leading edge technology Job Description The Junior Sofware developer is responsible for coding in Java /C++ as appropriate with guidance from a more senior team member Responsibilities. To deliver features of products to a given specification Mandatory Skills, Experience and Education Education : BSc in Computer Science /Engineering - minimum grade 2.1; Preference will be given to candidates with 1.1 grade in primary degree Mandatory Skills Java , C++ Desired Skills, Experience and Education Desired Education : MSc or PHD Desired Skills: HTML /XML; JavaScript; Unix; Linux; Windows Experience: Although not mandatory; Good final year project in Java /Web technologies and interim placement experience would be advantageous

You'll find the details on the fas job-bank. But before anyone gets too excited, I've heard (on the grape-vine) that IBM are running a so called Fast-Programming programme, which means that they'll work the sh1t out of you for 6 months***, and then probably let you go unless you're really really special (aren't we all:D). Since they have super qualified and experenced Russian guys there on grad. wages don't expect a career out of them.

*** From what I hear you'll get the support of architects and mentors etc., but the workload you'll be given will be huge, beyond an 8 hour day. I don't work there, and never have, I know someone who does.

    HTH(someone).

    D.

p.s. thehopper, I've been job hunting for 2 years now, and although I've got a fair bit of work from ppl that I've worked for prior to that, I've otherwise only had 2 interviews (neither of which I got even though I did great interviews - hint: interviews are only meetings - if you can do that latter, you can do the former), and I've applied for a ton(ne) of jobs. Some of those jobs were 100% skill match, some didn't even get a reply. Geez, I've so much freeware and/or open-source software now to write to put these fcukers out of business :D

After reading that and talking to WhiteWashMan, he has said to ban you oughtright due to you being an annoying c***.

On the other hand, I'm generally a nice person. What type of job are you looking for and where are you?
Give us some details, it would certainly make life easier.

I have done a little digging, and it appears that WhiteWashMan is correct in his assupmtion that you just waste peoples time.

Since you are still doing as you used to, I'm putting you on a ban.
