Ok im not sure if this is the right place for this but i just wanted to share my story with you all in Rio. Im 21 and a member on this but i dont want anyone in my college knowing im involved in drugs so.....

O.K. im just back from Rio about a week was there for 2 and while i was over there i thought it was the worst place on Earth but now that i am back i am just dying to go again.

Bad things about Rio: No one speaks english really, food is rotten, bread is differant, Rains a lot and i dont know who said it was always sunny there cause its NOT.

Have to say though the women and all over there are fine. We were staying in the Othon something...cant remember which one....on Avenue De Atlantica in Copacobana. I think the best thing in Copacobana besides the beach are the women. Jesus Christ man i read about that "Club Help" before i went and it really is heavean. Went off with two women first couple of nights, had to pay but it seems more of a gesture than anything and they are not pure hookers like the ones on the side of the street as you walk along the avenue....these are all about 20 upwards and seriously fine!!!!

Whole holiday was goin well in general apart from the fact that i was doing a David Blaine on the food out there. Well anyway one night one of the Spic's out there came up offering my mate and i cocaine, a gram for about 13Euro and i got a dab before i bought. I walked back with the father to the hotel and got money and bought the coke. Had to get a tenner change off the dealer so we went looking for some change shop or whatever yeah, i was actually up the road that there is this Bearu De Change on, its about 10 minutes down the Avenue from Help in the Leme direction. There i was standing around the corner anyway waiting for your man anyway while he was asking the taxi man for change, i had an awful feeling about the whole thing and was going to just say forget the tenner but then my mate would be slagging me or whatever so i stayed.

Next thing this black fella comes around the corner and i thought it was the fella i was after buying the coke off so i starts asking him for my change.

Then suddenly my mate comes around the corner...oh yeah i was walking back towards my mate at this stage and i had caught sight of the real dealer but i was unwell so my brain was a bit switched off or whatever...anyway my mate comes around the corner and he says "Drop it Drop It" so i flicked it into this flower bed. Well i had no sooner done that when this cop appeared out of no where and grabbed a hold of me, i sorf of pushed him off me and he took out his gun, i was really ****ting it then cause i had heard the stories of all the street children those ****s had shot dead and all, anyway another cop appeared after arresting my dealer and he was like 'where is cokeahina where is cokeahina'? i was denying it anyway when the fella who i thought was my dealer suddenly bursts out, ;Et in flower bed' or some **** like that. Sure didnt the wanker of a cop go back and find it anyway and i was getting taken into the car with the dealer when the snitch pointed at my friend and said him too him too, so 3 of us bundeled into this car anyway and the cops started beating the crap out of the dealer, Oh i tell ya man i was really ****ting it, i tried the door handle cause i was goinmg running but i was locked, i honestly thought we would be brought off somewhere and shot. Anyway i was denying it and the cop was like 'you will have to pay 1000$ and you will be escorted to the airport and flown home. Anyway i kept denying it and i noticed the car was driving around in circles, i was also aware that the cops were only on 300R$ a month which is about 25Euro or dollars a week so i said can i pay 50R$ and let me go.

Next thing the cop says ok ok you pay us 500$ and everything forgotten, i started getting cocky then and i saw the dealer swallowing the little wraps of coke and he pretending to cough at the same time and all so i thought i might get away with it. Anyway to cut a long story short we aggreed to pay him 150R$ and 100$, so they pulled in near my hotel and my mate went up to get the money, well i swear to god he was gone for about an hour...well definately 15 minutes which is bad cause they were about to take off with the two of us in the car (me and dealer) They were still hitting him and all, then they started asking me did he sell me cocaine and if i said yeah i could go and all that, but even though i should have it was'nt in me to grass your man up plus the fact that i would have probadly signed his death warrant so i still denyed it but i was saying it very calm so they would not get angry and end up driving off with me. Edventually my mate came back anyway and i was getting out and the dealer gave me this little thank you sort of smile, i could see the relief in his face when he knew i had not grassed on him so out of the car i got anyway and god only knows what happened that poor dealer that time with those corrupt cops.

Anyway thats my story of Rio, serious poverty over there, have out about 100Euro to beggars the whole time i was there, ripped off a hooker that i met in "Leblon" the the night after and she ended up coming back to my hotel and the manager arrived at my rom with the father getting up but thats another story. Otherwise the place is nice though, didnt see Sugarloaf but was up on the statue though "Christ the Reedemer" mad to go back again, love that restruant Rondellos or something and anyone going out there dont buy drugs cause you dont know who you are buying them off, we met this Dutch guy a couple of days later, he had been living out there a couple of months and he was telling us that some dealers sell you gear, then go to the cops and grass you up and then the cops give them a couple of R$. People out there are nice though, very friendly and all that....well most of them, place is dangerous though you can sort of feel it in the air when you are there but otherwise it beautiful there..........Any other questions about the place feel free to ask!!!!!!!!

Am I missing something here? You went to Rio for drugs and hookers with your father?
Or is this some new slang or jive that I am not aware of?

Fascinating story - I'd always be very wary of doing anything dodgy in a country like that.

I remember once we had to pay cops in slovakia just because we did a u-turn. In countries where they are broke and they know you are not this is always going to be a possibility (bit of a generalisation, sorry).

It's a nice way of thinking about it though - going to Amsterdam, red light district, avail of services from the kind ladies and then give them a few quid - sort of a good will gesture.

No but is that some kind of joke? You spent 2 weeks in Rio, yet didn't even see the sugarloaf. Complaining about people not speaking English, you're in a portuguese speaking country so wtf do you expect?

I was there back in November 2001, avoided the drug scene, avoided the hooker scene (that's all they are, don't kid yourself) and had a brilliant time. Didnt' find the food bad either, but then again I never eat much.

BTW I only spent 4 days and felt that was just right. There's so much else to see in Brazil/South America.

The exact same thing happened to me once before! Only there was no police or dealers involved
