Well the first of Four drama's outside Fair City, began tonight,
    Sunday 12th of October.

    I enjoyed it.

Characters were well developed for a first episode which is good, rather then introducing ever character and not having enough episodes to get on with the plots.

I like the Mad Secretary, seems like a good story line.

    Better then Casulty?

well the set looks better but then I don't like casualty.

    Better then ER?

No but then budgets, but nice intro into ER before it starts later on in the year.

Well done Parrelle films and RTE.

    Nicely produced.

Still. This IS RTE. I missed it, but I'm prejudiced. (Remeber On Home Ground? REMEMBER?) I suppose it is a totaly different kind of show (i.e. not the 'exclusively irish' crap)... So maybe it could be half decent. I guess I'll watch it before I totally write it off...

    (Remeber On Home Ground? REMEMBER?)

    Yes very bad

    but remember

    No Tears
    Amongst Women
Strumpet City (Which I am enjoying for the first time, 7 on sunday)
    The Family
    Batchelors Walk

don't be so prejudiced, there is pleanty of good drama coming out of RTE. (Soap is not Drama, its just on the TV. blaa!)

I would compare this drama to shortland street. I would prefer Shortland Street.

I really don't care for RTE producing "Soaps". "Soaps" are formula - and not re-watchable. I think with all the UK soaps - We're getting "Soap Fatigue".

Their like a good bread - fine when its baked but after a few days it goes off.

Watched the first half but it just didn't grip me at all.

I thought it was decent enough. It certainly had enough in it to bring me back for the next episode. It was substantially better then On Home Ground but not a patch on the other past drama's that Elmo mentioned. To me its just great to see some home produced drama on RTE at last! Maybe the license fee increase was worth it, if more drama is the result?

P.S It will be repeated late on Thursday night on RTE 1. So anybody who missed the first episode can catch it then.

    Cork don't be so stupid.

    Your completely bias.

    You just hate RTE.

Forget that it is on RTE, Its a good show.

Look a casulty and Holby City 2 show I think are more like Shortland Street, terrible sets etc.

This is above most Medical Dramas on TV with the exception of ER. But then maybe I am bias when I say that.

I watched it just to see if I'd watch it again And I will. It was well written, well acted and well produced.

On Home Ground was well produced but lacked any kind of Direction and pissed me of because I just dont get into GAA or sport as most of the charters in that show.
"Soaps" are formula - and not re-watchable.

Five year down the road in a soap and your watching the same thing with different actors I wont say characters because that would be a lie.
