Cisco VPN/IOL broadband

hi, I recently signed up for residential broadband with IOL. Before signing up I asked if the services I could use on my 56k modem would be available with their service, they said yes (and i believed them!)

Browsing the web is fine, but I'm trying to access my works network (via Cisco VPN client app), and this just doesn't appear to work.

Login to the network seems fine, but I can't browse it (only my machine is visible on the network). I can ping the shared drives on the network, and can also access them via their IP addresses, but I cannot write to them (this worked fine over my 56k modem).

Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong (e.g. IOL's firewall?) - I'm getting no joy from IOL themselves (sorry, we don't support networks)

    thanks,

    Carl

The Cisco PIIX firewall needs to have port 5000 (UDP) open thru, ISTR That number

5000 may be a P2P port or a Trojan port ISTR and may be bloked.

Eithe open a second port on the Cisco PIIX or ask IOL why 5000 is closed. Mail technical@iol.ie to get past the muppets
