Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but Sky have announced that Sky Ireland are opening a new Dublin bureau for Sky News Ireland. Set to open in early 2004, staffed by seven plus, it will broadcast a new evening news bulletin at 9pm on Sky News Ireland. It will have two main presenters, one broadcasting from their Dublin Studio, with the other from Sky Centre.

It was only a matter of time before Sky realised they have a major market share over here all wanting more Irish content on Sky News. Initally Sky News Ireland will opt out for 30mins each evening, but whats to say if a major Irish News Story breaks, Sky will opt out? At least come competition for RTE News at nine!!

It's a pity that, as a 24 hour channel, it has to clash it with RTE News. Though I think it will be available in Sky News Active too.
