yeah if your download too much they will cap you, and your downloads will go to nothing... I was capped and I called them up today and they told me taht I was not only on 'the list' but that I was one of the worst in Ireland! So, no more for kazaa for me... well, maybe just a little...

I done about 8 gigs in september and the fastest ive seen on kazaa lately is 1.35kb/sec, think they may be limiting the ports or blocking em.

she told me I was doing an average of 2gigs a day! he he he.... I know I know, but there are a few people using the connection, me at night, other during the day.... I waited 5 years for broadband and I only got it 2 months ago, so of course there was lots I wanted. Now I have it all its going to be drastically reduced, so I;ll only be using my 'fair share' from now on...

Not had any problems at all with kazaa this evening, 55Kb/s at one stage. If they are blocking well known P2P ports, it only seems to be for some of the ppl.

Does anyone know what is a 'fair' amount to download, and what is abusing it? Basically I don't want to get capped again, so how much can I download without being put on 'the list'?

As far as I can see 4 weeks ago it was 30 gigs.
now it's "probably 16" as I was told earlier today.
Though they've refused to put it in writing.
    You can see the thread.

you can't 'abuse' and uncapped service by downloading too much, thats why its uncapped. You could however 'abuse' it by breaking the terms and conditions, which you arent doing if you download loads on an uncapped service.

Yeah thats what I thought when i signed up, but they have capped lots of people, just do a search and see all the threads on here about it. SeeThis and this

They "Reserve the right to change their tems and condistions at any time" so they can almost do what they want. Basically they haev a certain amount of bandwidth allocated to a certain amount of people. If a few 'hog' it, then it is effectivly 'unfair' to the others... The way I see it is that a lot of their customer are businesses that are just interested in the 'always on' connection for e-mail etc, and would probably never downlaod very much at all, so rather than waste the bandwidth I'll gladly use it!. Eircom's limit is 4GB per month! I would sometimes do that in 2 days! I can see their point to some extent, as obviously I am using kazaa etc, but that really shouldn't be any of their business, its not like theya re liable or anything.

Netsourse have got a lot of bad publicity, but until they capped me I was very happy with them.
