Chorus EPG better than SKY

    HI All,

I was in a friends house the other day and he has Chorus Digital and I have to say the EPG is way better than the SKY one. I have Sky and wouldn't exchange it for Chorus but on their EPG you can select to view just the Basic Package channels or the full listing which is really handy. Also The Tv guide is better and more user friendly. One thing I also noticed was if you change channel from lets say BBC1 to Uk Style and after you changing you hit the backup button it will bring you back to the previously viewed channel in this case namely BBC1 (this doesn't work on sky).

I think sky could do with upgrading their EPG and it shoud be more customizable.

    Any Thoughts?

Changing channels on Chorus Digital takes for ever.

I haven't used the Chorus EPG much but the few times I did I found it really hard to navigate. Sky's one appears to be easier to figure out.

Maybe I just need to play with the Chorus EPG a bit more. :D

It would be nice if Sky added a few simple usability features though, like a last channel button.

my thoughts on the Sky EPG are the same as yours. the Sky EPG could do with some more user friendly features.

example: i would love to be able to see a synopsis for a programme on MTV2 while watching Sky News. at the moment we must enter the EPG to do so

i'd love to see an feature where i can see the synopsis of a show from the search and scan banner and not having to go into epg

basically same as mossy monk said

    Hi
Chorus may have a better epg but they dont have as many of bskyb interactive services i would agree with you that the sky epg does need some more costumation and some cosmetic inprovements may not go far astray sorry about my spelling i feell and sprained my arm

I want more symbol and fec settings and when do i want the "NOW"

    Thanks The Digiking:mad:

Yup, this is something that really bugs me at times too. I'm sure it would be possible?

Sky EPG is designed to meet needs of Marketing Dept, not users.

From what I've read, at the moment the channel/programming info is stored on its own "channel" if you will....Apparently to do what you're suggesting (even tho it WOULD be nice! :)) for each channel would require massive bandwidth, resulting in less channels, reduced picture quality etc :(
