Right I am pissed off, MacDonalds have trademarked 'I'm lovin' it' for their new ad campaign!

How can they trademark a common phrase!

Not only all that, but the ad looks like it was made in 1993. Whats the crak with that. The music has an early 1990s ring to it, aswell as all the people in it.

That ad does my head in.
Plus they hardly show the food in the ad, and in the brief glimpes when they do, you kind of want to puke.

The ad is really out dated. Lets hope it flops.
(PS: Under the laws of commen sense one can only slam Mc'Donalds if one doesn't eat their. So none of: "I hate them so much, wanna go for a Big Mc?" That really gets up my nose)

Also just going slightly off topic, but did anyone read or buy the book "fast food nation" its pretty disturbing about Mc Donalds about in the USA division their oil, was 10% veg 90% beef tallow ,their chips had more saturated beef in them than the burgers! But probably most disturbing was their main Beef Packer Provider Company. IBP (iowa beef packers) now known as Tyson Foods,well the book comments on the horror stories of both the animal conditions/worker conditions. IBP began life as a simple company with some good policys in the 60s but in the book you read its fall from grace to the corprate monster is has become. now normally im not interested in this subject, but after reading a few pages of this book, i coundnt put it down. Id recommend it , if your willing to know about the darker side of the fast food industry, and i wouldnt blame you if you became a vegetarian after reading it ,disturbing stuff........

LOL Mada I feel sorry for you. Saw the McDonalds staff wearing the lovin it t shirts yesterday. They are fcuking embarrasing looking in fairness. You would look better going on the pull at the weekend in your regular mcdonalds uniform than that gear:D

Its a bit of a crap ad,but then again its hard to recall a McDonalds ad that isnt.Think about it
Burger King-The ads used to show close ups of the burger,the sauce,the water falling off fresh veg,in short it made you want to eat in BK right then.
Budweiser-Same effect(for me anyway)Seeing the cool looking bubbling amber liquid in the ad just has you running to the fridge for a can

But what with McDonalds?Hippy types and all?Nay,me isnt thrilled.I love mcdonalds food but there ads have never achieved the required objective,which is to get people wanting the food right then right there.

I think these ads are part of their attempts to attract a different clientele.Young upper class types who prefer the sandwich bar for lunch,those types. They fail to realise that most of these people are Fast Food Nation waving dudes who have more of a moral objection to mcdonalds because of globalisation and other issues they half understand. No amount of fruit bags and salads will get them into a mcdonalds.

Im suprised that the presence of self proclaimed rapping cocaine dealers Clipse in most of the ad hasnt got Bill O`Reilly up in arms. After all he managed to get Ludacris off an advert for Pepsi for his lyrics in general. And he even got rapper and part time pornographer Snoop Dogg kicked off the Muppets Christmas Special on which he had been due to guest star.
