She was getting stick in the press for her bad American accent so after she returned from the States they decided it was better to let her be herself....as for the Scotland trip its bound to be someone who has just found happyness...

i just thought all those overly emotional scenes in the last weeks were putting too much of a strain on her voice. its quite difficult to both put on an accent and shout

Mewzel, thats why its called acting!

I have a vision of Alec Guiness or Peter Sellers going "ah damn it chaps, Sorry I cant do the acting and the accent at the same time!"

so glad someone else noticed this, she left for a few weeks to go to the states and then came back with a posh london accent.

Um, I've heard about Den re-appearing. He had a funeral and was buried years ago I believe. How on earth did they reason his comeback? Or have they avoided that minor issue?

Anyone remember a character in season 1 of Dream Team called Balloo? Well he had Vicki Syndrome too went from an english accent to American Vicki has gone from an american accent and then upon her return it has varied.:)

not as bad as neighbours years ago when the robinson's daughter lucy went away for 3 or 4 months and came back a completely different actress who didn't even look like the old one.

don't know if they thought nobody would notice, or just couldn't be bothered to kill her off or what.

think it's happened to some other soaps too if memory serves.

suppose they think anyone dumb enough to watch it won't notice.

oh, yeah, they did it in eastenders before too, with peggy mitchell. she was some big old heffer of a woman when she first appeared for 3 or 3 episodes, then when she came back she was the tiny little heffer who couldn't see over the bar (or her boobs!) we all know now.

anyone remember any others? (maybe this might deserve a thread all of it's own).

In Emmerdale Farm (ie old school) Jack Sugden changed and his wife too Mk 1 was blond, Mk 2 Brunette.

I remember about 10 years ago in Home & Away watching one day when Pippa had gone from a Blond with Chipmunk cheeks to a Red Head, with no explanation.... WTF
