Which Service for gaming?

Sorry to bring up this old chestnut guys, nut I've been tempted back to CS since the 1.6 release. Unfortunately I'm with Netsource at the mo: this is unusable in the evenings and even now during the day (11:00am) the ping to jolt is jumping from 35 up to 140.

I rang up iol & utv: it seems that they both are running at 48:1 contention ratio for their soho products. This is the same as Netsource... so I assume the pings are/will be comparable. Can people confirm: to play games I need to get a business service with a 20:1 contention ratio?

You dont need a business service. you need a provider that will provide low pings no matter what the package.
Thats not netsource by the way.

I have utv 512kdown 128up. Um i play cs 1.6 and i get between 45 and 90 ping. The servers where i play the most i get 50-58ping and stable. I have a download cap of 5gb but i think it went up to 8gb recently.

mmm, Surely the fact that these services are all 48:1 ratio mean that eventually when the get popular enough they will go like netsource. So I'd prefer not to get locked into a 12 month contract if there's a chance the pings will go as netsource's did.

Eircoms pings are fine Bambam. The 4 gb cap keeps the heavy downloaders away so you'll have a fairly solid 30-50 ping depending on servers :)
