    What do yez think ?

Montoya is out, only Shumi & Kimi still in the championship.

Is it cut & shut for Schumi (also referred to as GOD) to win the championship in Suzuka ?

Räikkönen needs to win @ Japan & for Michael not to score a point there.

IMO there will be a Ferrari 1-2 in Suzuka, with Ferrari winning the constuctors championship & Michael winning the drivers title. No doubt about it. :D

Also, who do yez think will win the constructors championship ?

What chance has Räikkönen of winning the title? 5 votes

    He can still do it.

Best season (in my opinion anyway) since the early-mid90's... the schumacher rammings were just legendary in my young, impressionable mind.

Anyway, it looks like Schumacher will easily take the drivers, and I think Williams may just take the constructors championship... not sure though...

Yep, Ferrari and Schumi have it sewn up now ... I reckon they'll take both championships now.

Isnt it interesting that if Williams win that championship that their season will be a complete success and if Ferrari won it[alone], it would be a total failure.

:'( unless they get DC to run schumi off at turn one (now theres an idea!!) kimi aint got a chance! :(

Kimi won't win it, he'll make a very good attempt but he won't be able to do it. Schuey is unstoppable- he showed just how bloody fantastic he is yesterday.
Montoya was robbed, the drive-through penalty shouldn't have been given and that together with the fuel gun incident estroyed his championship!! The stewards had no business messing with the championship by giving that penalty- to lose because of something like that is ridiculous! Up until that point JPM was competitive, even with his very poor start.
Still, he'll be back next year and Schuey won't take a lucky 7th!

I wouldn't back Kimi but that is not to say that he has no chance... in hell maybe, but only there.

My reckoning is that Raikonen will finish 3rd at the end. Montoya will have a better race in Japan, if only he hadn't arsed up yesterday...

Yep , I reckon Shumey has it sown up , all he has to do is turn up in Japan, Kimi has it all to do , and Ferrari should just take the constructors.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall a similar situation between 2 drivers years ago when Damon Hill took out his main opponent (and himself) on turn#1 to win the drivers championship? There were protests but it was deemed an accident. I'm a bit sketchy on the details, but it was something like that.

Anyway, if Schumy has to retire in the race, do you think Montoya & co will "let" Kimmi win?

I hope that Williams can take the constructors, they need to salvage something out of the year. The drivers championship is the important 1 of course, but it would dampen the inevitable Ferrari celebrations just a tiny bit if Williams took the constructors. Hopefully Ralf will put in a solid performance alongside JPM in Suzuka, the chances are good!

I suppose they could "let" Kimi win, but they would need to take Rubens out along with Shumey , and I think the stewards may have something to say about that, but...

Montoya Pole Schumacher second and Kiwi third on grid for qualifying.

Start of race montoya takes out schumacher and kiwi just storms to finish.

please let there be a god!

Senna/Prost 1990. Senna takes Prost out as revenge for the year before where 1) Prost ran him off the road and 2) the French president then robbed him of the WDC.

Refer to my post above...if they take the constructors Williams have had a successful season.

As long as Shumi and Ferrari drive a sensible and don't risk it by battling for a win, it's Shumi's title. And I for one am a happy camper. G'wan Schumi:)

All Shumey has to do is keep the head and the championship is his....................Then its party time for me.

While I am confident that Schumi will win the race in two weeks time even if he doesn't win, doesn't score any points or even finish, that still leaves Kimi with it all to do and win the race. This would only be his second win.

Certainly Kimi is still in with a chance, but I don't think he'll be able to do it, although I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he did pull of the win in the race, I reckon schumi will still get some points from it.

As for Montoya does deserving the drive through which he got.... he deserved it and more, it should have been a stop and go penalty. He's a dangerous driver who takes risks and expects others to just get out of his way even when they have the line, he was half off the track ffs. I personally would have liked both himself and Alonso to have gotten race bans for their actions at some of the earlier races.

I'm just hoping that the Jordans can bring home some points to bring some cheer to what has been a pretty awful season.

Drivers getting penalised for "racing incidents" is disgraceful and is counter productive for F1 in many ways. It discourages overtaking and as made the championship almost a foregone conclusion now.

Then Schumacher should have gotten one at Silverstone for practically driving Alonso of the track on the opening lap as they headed down the hangar straight.

Its racing, and this stuff happens.

PS: Im a total Schumi fan....so woohoo we win!

While the "Schumi Swerve" (tm) is legendary, it doesn't cause accidents because a) everyone expects it and b) he is still usually ahead of the car getting swerved on allowing the driver to make the decision to back off or crash. JP on the other hand either forces himself off or nerfs the other car as he does his too fast up the inside maneuver.

I agree, it was clear to see that when Montoya hit Rubens , he did not lift off, thus spinning Rubens around, The natural reaction is to lift off the accelerator, but JPM does not.........he got what he deserved
Once again experience won the race, Kimi will be lucky to get second place in the championship.

It's probably something he learnt in CART where they tend to drive a lot more aggressively. But I suppose F1 is procession heaven so any attempts at overtaking should obviously be penalised.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 314 ✭✭BANZAI_RUNNER

no , i dont agree, they should overtake in F1 . but use the head, afterall he is in the big league now, once again i will say experience will win everytime, so maybe he should go get some..............
