The worst All-Ireland final ever?

    Good grief.
Great mobility and fitness - it seemed either team could get five men to any spot on the field - but for heaven's sake, when they got there it was as if no-one knew what to do with the ball!
And as for the late tackles, the "gamesmanship", and the rest - fecks sake.

If this is what we have to look forward to for next year's season, I'm going to start watching golf...

Quit complaining, was a great game of football. It should finally silence the critics.

Face it, if Kerry were in the final and played the same way Tyrone was supposed to have played that was so bad, no one would murmur a word of it.

Bollocks on both counts. On the first count because it was an appallingly bad display of football skills (by which I mean ball-handling skills, rather than the wonderfully competent diving for frees that we saw), as well as the funniest last three minutes I've ever seen in a final - I think it's the first time I've seen hair-pulling in an all-ireland final.

And on the second count because there bloody well would have been, mostly from the Kerry fans. We go to see football, not a display of ineptness with the ball that the team attempts to compensate with through mob tactics, "gamesmanship", faking injuries, tackles that are so late as to be funny, and diving at the opposing team's knees. And the games where we lost to Armagh and Meath showed that - no-one said "Oh, Meath cheated" or "Erra, we threw the armagh game" - they said, correctly, that the team was massively outplayed.
If you're going to accuse people of sour grapes, you ought to check that they're not right first you know...

"Wah wah wah... I'm just pissed off that my county wasn't there because the teams in the final were better than my team. Wah wah wah..."

A common enuff whinge in Cavan, eh PN? :D:D

I like seeing first time winners, congrats Tyrone. But the game was ****, the ref didn't have full control.

Its the rule book that needs to be looked at, because what was played today was turgid.

    Porn, The charter states that

"Outbursts of personal abuse/racism etc, be it directed at other board members or at Sports people will not be tolerated (unless its against Meath Footballers, in that case fire away!) We reserve the right to edit/move/delete such posts as we see fit."

now your post borders on that, and I have no intention of taking this any further, just to let you know this is where the line is drawn.

You cant just pass remarks about sparks unless you have some useful comments on the topic aswell Sparks always expalins himself, I feel we should too.

    Regards,
    Alan. :horned:

Do you not think that Sparks comments about Ulster football is bordering anything from above... Racism maybe? I find it very annoying and there is no need for him to drag it out for so long.

Nope. Unless you've got a funny definition of racism.

well actually yes I do think sparks is bordering outbursts of abuse
at times. the only reason I have never said anything is becuase he usually expalins his reasons for his out bursts and we are trying to keep the GAA board as relaxed as possible.

I think you are are right about sparks having a chip about ulster football ( but then ask me about meath football..same thing) , and I think there is a red mist when he looks at uslter football. But you know I think there should be a red mist . I think he feels Ulster football is wrecking a sport he loves to watch and while I dont agree with him I understand his point.

At the end of the day Im only asking people to explain their comments. I think there should be heated arguments and playful banter... and right now I think we have that. We know where the line is drawn now.

    Regards,

    Alan

Wrong Alany, I have a red mist about bad football.
Otherwise, I'd have been ranting about Armagh last year, and I wasn't.

you can see how i confused bad football with ulster football as in my opinion they have been one in the same this year...part from fermanagh.

Directed towards the people of N. Ireland. That can be deemed as racist.

Hmm. So I make a comment against bad football, and that's seen as automatically against the people in N.I.?
    Now who's being racist?
