Is there any way that new colour and font schemes can be downloaded onto the digiboxes?
I would love to be able to change that 'Sky Blue(tm)' interface to something a bit more mood.

Yes, buy out Murdoch and tell the Tech Dept to change the colour scheme.

For marketing reasons Sky offers less customisation for User and more for the Provider than any other Satellite Provider. Almost any feature can be changed by Sky.

    Sorry.

At the moment I am using Digiguide pc software for my tv guide. You can customise the color scheme and program highlighting there. When will Sky ever allow such user interfaces - I think it is up to the digibox manufacturers to compete on product differentiation. Set-top-box software has fallen so far behind here compared to japan, europe and esp USA with TIVO type features and home networking becoming standard. Sky's efforts of service enhancment focus on revenue generting streams such as interactive polls, shopping, messaging and box office (DTV is optimised for the latter function only)... sorry, I digress... - Does anyone know if there is a way to setup ir-remote macros to control the tv and digi-box using pc digiguide software?

    Yes you can.

I'm working on some SW to do this. We built our own learning remote SW for PC programmed in VB and it has a IR RX (to learn) and IR TX to control.

You can buy off the shelf products too. Which can be controlled from other programs. etc

The Gypsy media site / digiguide has info on doing plugins to control stuff. I download one for DAB/Analog TV card elsewhere.

None of this is as simple as plugging in a Sky+ though!

(I have Digital Sat and Analog TV cards in the PC).

    RANT
Arrrrggggg - the signal strength uses two similar shades of blue - almost impossible to see through a window - especially if it's sunny. (the FTA box uses Bright Yellow on Blue)
