I currently have Sky + and i am moving to a new house. My question is would it be possible to have the cables from satelite dish go to the services box at side of house and to connect to internally wired cables to the rooms where boxes would be located I think i heard somewhere that the joints ie where cables are joined in services box and then to a wall socket and then to sky boxes would cause to much signal loss.Or is the idea more hassel than it is worth?

I wired all my rooms up to a central point in the attic and got the installer to bring in all four feeds from the dish in there too. Now I can connect up any room to the dish using simple barrel connectors. The pictutre is fine in all rooms.

By the way I would recommend at least 4 cable runs to the main room. I have 4 but could use another. Two are used for Sky+, one for a FTV box and one for the regular aerial. (I'd like one more to carry back a feed to the attic that could be fed around the house).

Shane, did your guy use CT100 cable for the wiring?

I think it might be RG6 which is supposedly a lower quality cable however I've had no problems with the quality on any of the boxes (3). Each cable run to the main two boxes have two barrel connecters between the box and the dish (one in the attic and one in the living room).
