Just a query ... anyone know why NTL's BBC2 NI was showing the All-Ireland final last Sunday, but when I flicked to Sky's BBC2 NI (with an ROI sub), there was bike racing?

Are there two different versions of BBC2 NI, or do sky just refer to BBC 2 as 'NI' in the republic?

    There are differences.

BBC 2 on NTL is as straight off the aerial. BBC 2 NI on Sky Digital does have its own programming occasionally, but the added difference since all BBC channels have gone FTA is they cant show GAA on satellite anymore, as Setanta have the rights to the rest of the UK, and it would interfere with them.

Now RTÉ are/will be showing GAA on Satellite, because their signal is encrypted, not FTA.
