Explorer Errors

I mainly use my computer for the internet and a lot of the time I am on the net I get the message:

Explorer has caused an error in <unknown>.
    Explorer will now close.

When I press close sometimes my computer just shows a blank screen with my backround and other times it doesn't close at all.

Also, when I am playing Championship manager online I get a message:

cm01/02 has caused an error in cm01/02.exe.

that also closes. These two problems have only started recently.

Any ideas how to solve them?

    Thanks.

    swap to Linux? :D
cm01/02 has caused an error in cm01/02.exe.

I assume that's the exe for the actual game.
What version of DirectX are you using and which version of Windoze for that matter?

I actually found a virus on my computer yeterday and I posted here:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115732
I done a scan and it couldn't be deleted but I done another and the virus was gone. But the problem hasn't been resolved.
