I want to buy an acoustic takamine guitar.
I do not know the model, however, it's the exact same guitar Josh Ritter plays (the one with the hole in it).
I think Glen Hansard has it also.
    Any help...... anyone???

what do you mean by a hole, almost all guitars have a soundhole, i'd imagine josh ritter / frames would have top o' the range takamines costing in the thousands, but they're are great 'budget' takamines ~600€

why dont you go and buy a Big Baby Taylor? They cost around 500-600EUR and sound waaaay better than any takamine costing the same sort of money.

I know the takamine ur on about... i think the model is somethin like ean10. Definitly part of their "Natural" series. The hole i think you are referring to is down to wear and tear and years of playin the guitar. you'll see the very same with damien rice's lowden (costing in the region of €3500 brand new) - whatever u do, dont buy a guitar with the extra holes on the top. The models they play have a cedar top and is a much softer wood than spruce, though it has a warmer acoustic sound than spruce.

It really depends on what you want to do with your guitar, wether your going to gig live or if its just for home use. I have a Taylor i'm looking to get rid of. Its in prestine condition. I love the guitar to bits and the only reason i'm changing is because playing with a full band, the taylor is too tempremental. Its outstanding for singer/songwriter sessions, and where any acoustic sessions take place, but with bass and drums behind it, it goes nuts.

Anyway, a EAN10 (or the newer model TAN10) will cost you in the region of €1000 online, and more in the shop. So, shop around, and play loads in the shops before u decide. Its all about whats right for you and what ur looking to get out of it.

I was recently in US and wanted to buy a guitar. I had a budget of $800 - 1600 for an elecrto-acoustic. I looked at all of the Martins, Takamines and Taylors in that price range. I wanted something with a warm sound so picked up a few guitars with cedar top in satin. One such guitar that I played did not have a price on it. By the way it sounded I presumed it was in my price range. I said that the sound was so warm and bright just the sound I wanted. The salesman laughed and said he got that a lot and that what I had picked up was one of the cheapest guitars that Takamine make; the GS 330 S, which retailed at $279.95! I bought it and am still amazed by the sound. I don't know what your budget is but if you want a sound like Ritter/Hansard for a good price I would recommend it.

I saw him on TV playing that guitar in Dingle. What a beautiful amplified sound it was. I was looking for a mic in front of his guitar and i don't think he was using one.Just the pickup.
