A dish is a dish is a dish.

As long as it is in good condition it will work a dream.

Remember a dish is only a reflecter ,the lnb decides if it convert your signal .

And if its a universal LNB, then even better.

Cool - probably a bit over kill for SKY

The dish acts like a mirror c.f car headlight (~60-80% of the microwaves are reflected and all that enargy is focused on to the lnb)

you might have to adjust the mounting for the lnb to get the focal point right - ie the distance between the dish and the face of the lnb

You could probably get a digital lnb to fit the existing feedhorn

I have an old ChannelMaster 1,80m, which had just a C-Band LNB, I managed to put a Humax KU-Band LNB through the Feedhorn, works great from 42°e-45°w.

The dish has a centre feed horn.
I managed to tape my lnb out of my minidish onto it with ducktape
it stayed on for about 5 minutes then it began to fall off!

    Thanks

probably c120 or wr75 fitting you should be able to get a suitable lnb to go straight on to the feedhorn

    You're possibly looking for this:

    c120lnb.gif

which you would attach to already existing feedhorn, as Tony has suggested.

BTW, full link is here and costs €50.05

If the F/D is different (Ratio of focal length to dish diameter) the LNB (like Sky mini dish) only "sees" the middle of the dish or past the edges (picks up noise).

The Sky LNB has "rings" to focus on the eleiptical shape of Sky Offset dish.

A feed horn that comes with a big dish has the correct apatuer (sp) ("view") to collect the focused signal and no more or less for the F/D,

So a Sky minidish LNB, even if mounted securely, will work, but not give as good a signal as the dish could give. On Sky or any other satellite that works on 45cm dish the signal can actually get TOO MUCH on a very big dish. A piece of kitchen foil with a small hole in middle works to cut down the signal, as do some thick plastic (but that can rotate the polarisation).
