For all you fans of the Pixies out there just thought i'd spread some news about them reuniting for a tour. Here ya go:

Pixies now set to reunite for tour
It is reported that legendary guitar band the Pixies are to reform and go on tour again next year.

MTV.Com reports that a spokesperson for the band has said the four members have put aside their differences and will tour next April.

The spokesperson also said that a new studio album was a possibility if everything went to plan.

Earlier this summer Pixies frontman Frank Black, known during his time with the band as Black Francis, said that the quartet still got together for jam sessions and that he still dreamt of a reunion.

I hope they do cause they're one band i've never seen live and would absolutely love to. :D:D

that mtv article was also pointed to by pitchfork:
Now that the heavyhandedness is past, here comes the point. The glimmer is now a full-blown supernova. It's happening. In April. No dates yet, not even any quotes from the group's principals-- just a band spokesperson's promise to MTV, who broke the story. The source, who remains unnamed in MTV's story, also claims that if all goes well a studio album will follow.

Watched some of the documentary on them last night on Net2, lots of great live footage of them along with various people saying how great they were.

I thought Bowie was very good on it, he's covered a few Pixies tunes himself, know he did a version of Cactus but I believe there's a couple of others that he's covered. He spoke very well about them in real terms, basically said they had 3 things going for them: dynamics/lyrics/Joey's guitar, which for me sums them up pretty well.

The live version of "Gigantic" kicked ass, it's amazing that after all these years "Surfer Rosa" is still one of the albums is almost never out of my stereo.
