Did anybody see this on channel 4 last night? Frigging amazing though slightly ruined by trendy camera work.

If they had just showed each jump from at least one good angle instead of cutting in the middle it wouldv'e been great but still a very impressive show.

yeah, managed to catch it last night, amazing stuff they were doing, very cool. but as you say the trendy camera work did take away from it somewhat. But they were absolutely amazing to watch, and when the guy jumped from the HMS Belfast from a height of about two storey!! damn, i thought he was gonna crack his legs or something.

I thought they could have picked a better choice of buildings, maybe buildings not so well known that would have given them more chance to show what they can do. I have to say i hope it does catch on as an extreme sport, would be great to see.

I also like the way they had at least the beginnings of a philosophy about free running and how it relates to life, a nice touch that makes it more than just about running about jumping and climbing buildings.

Agreed; very impressive. (I'm surprised Channel 4 didn't plaster more "don't try this at home kids" messages all over it...) I also liked the 20 min intro giving the background and philosophy to the whole thing.

My favourite bit, along with the HMS Belfast base jumping (sans parachute), was a brief segment where one of the guys did a rooftop leap from one building to another, and sort of ran sideways along a connecting vertical wall in the middle - like something straight out of the Matrix, but not a wire in sight...

The jumps to ground off the Royal Shakspeare Theatre were also impressive, not least because they looked so effortless. I'm amazed they got through the whole day without at least one serious injury.

As for the building choices, I suspect they asked about 100 buildings for permission, and had to make do with the ones that said yes.

Excellent show. You can be damn sure hollywood will be snatching those boys up fairly fast.

I'd have said ruined by Robert Pires. Tosser.

Amazing stuff, but I thought that the free running in the intro was better shot and more cohrerent than what they did in London.

Nevertheless the HMS Belfast stuff was excellent.

I think the use of a helicopter or two with cameras would have given a bit more perspective to the rooftop scenes - something that was sadly lacking ffrom the limited camera positions.

Is was priceless to see some of the faces as the guys descended from 'impossible heights and angles'

Superb level of fitness involved, though I suspect they'll need new knees by 35:( :D

I turned it on half way through and thought it was some programme about a police chasing criminals over rooftops. Up until I heard the narrator and was very pleasantly suprised, it must take great discipline to do something like that.
