This has got to be the right fora for this sort of post.

Anyone see the 'Mackerel' sky this morning over Dublin? 0816jd01.jpg
This isn't a picture of it but it's pretty close. Just beautiful.

It's a great country for clouds I'd have to say. Though sometime they may bring rain they're never boring. So pity the people who live in places where they just have blue sky all day and rejoice in our beautiful Irish clouds!

Looks like a bit of Alto- Cumulus to me but I'm a bit rusty at the 'aul weather observing.

Dawn and dusk cloud formations can look beautiful at times.

Mackerel Sky is one of my favourites too.

Clouds are under-rated! :D If the conditions are just right you can get some fantastic anvil clouds in Summer esp if the air is
unstable. The best of the clouds will be over by the end of the month though...cool weather usual means few, if any big fluffy
Cumulonimbus monsters and a lot of boring Stratus unless its sunny when Cirrus whisps are commen.

    Mike.

Yeah those monsters near a thunderstorm with real straight line yet jagged edges and honey combed in side.

    Beautiful pic btw :)
