    Hi,
I have a T610 and I need some help with the settings. I have Wap GPRS working but not the MMS and email. I've tried the online configurators but I can't get the Sony Ericsson one to send to my phone and if I send it from O2.ie when I try to connect I get 'Contact O2 Customer Care'. O2.ie Support say my account is setup. Now below are the settings I have installed on my phone. Im on O2 Prepaid.

    Wap Profile:
    O2 Prepaid GPRS
Connect using: O2 MMS (Data Accounts)
    IP Address: 192.168.090.074
    Advanced -
    Change Homepage: O2 Prepaid GPRS
    User ID: (this is empty)
    Password: (this is empty)
    Security: Off
    Show Pics: On

And under the data account: O2 MMS which i'm using to connect I have these settings:

    APN: pp.wap.o2.ie
    User ID: user
Password: ******* (7 stars but I don't know what it is?)
    Password Request: Off
    Allow Calls: Automatic
    IP Address: (this is empty)
    DNS Address: (this is empty)

And under Messaging>Picture>Options>Message Server I have this:

    http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8002

If anyone has a T610 on O2 prepay could they please please check these settings to see if their correct?
    Cheers.

Everything seems to work on my T610 with O2 (contract), except for email. I can send mms and browse wap pages using GPRS, but it just will not connect to the two pop3 servers I use with the built in email client.

    What APN are you using?
Should be "internet" for postpaid or "pp.internet" for prepaid.
Is there and entry for the DNS?

The APN i'm using is pp.wap.o2.ie so do i change it to pp.internet? And I have no entry for DNS.

Yeah, for email (prepaid) give the pp.internet APN a go, the pp.wap.o2.ie one is for wap only.
Are you using the O2 email?
I think you can use pop3.o2.ie and smtp.o2.ie for the mail servers and 62.40.32.33 for the DNS.
The webpage might have the details just to double check!

Okay I gave pp.internet a go but I still get contact O2 customer care and I entered the DNS but still no luck:confused:

two threads here re 7650 and S55 and pp.internet / email from the handset (same logic for the T610)

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=92038

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=92870

re the POP account - you use your e-mail server's pop server address, but you may have to use the smtp.o2.ie in order to send mail (as your mail server may only accept outgoing mail when connected on it's own network - e.g. on some ISPs)

your account / SIM must been enabled by O2 for access to pp.internet before hand, calling 1740 can check this out / comfirm this for you

Cheers Brian, those threads contained all the info I need. Works like a charm now for 2 different POP servers :)

For setting up the t610 on O2 billpay, I used the sonyericsson.com website. Except in the email settings, "Connect using" was set to the wap account, not the data account. Everything else was fine though.

It was a bit more difficult setting up my friends Vodafone Billpay T610 though. The settings were all over the place, especially for email. I guessed my way through it though, thanks to a thread somewhere on this site with the details.
