Theres a distro called JAMD, based off Red Hat where alot of work has been done on the multimedia side. It really depends on what you want in regard to entertainment, any distro would do as you would have to get ahold of third party software - WineX for Games,, Rosegarden and Muse for music, Xine + codecs for watching movies, LiVES for video editing, The Gimp and Imagemagik for graphics and so on and so on.

    Best,

    Ben

MythTV. When I finally get around to building my living room box, that's what's gonna be on it. The latest news on his site is that someone has built a mini-distro specifically for it.You get:
    • PVR (TiVo-like)
    • TV guide
    • Pause live TV
    • Web browser module
    • Game module (MAME etc)
    • Music browser
    • CD ripping
    • Movie database
...and probably other stuff I've forgotten. Neat.

gentoo altho it requires alot of compiling, u should be able to install a stage 3 tarball easily enough without too much linux experience, the install instructions are quite comprehensive. Once set up, emerge should greatly simplify the difficulties of compiling. Portage should come in very handy too, im running mandrake atm but im swithing to gentoo soon.
