Ok this is a real shot in the dark.

We're trying to organise an 80th birthday bash for an elderly relative (female) but we have hit a brick wall in trying to get a band to play a bit of music for it.

Does anyone have any suggestions / pointers on this. The average age of the attendees will probably be close to 60. We need a musician / musicians who can play the sort of music that was popular before most ofthe contributors to these forums were born. The typical wedding band just won't cut it - the usual collection of hits from the last 30 years is probably too modern and then there is the regrettable fact that many wedding bands seem to confuse quantity (ie volume) with quality.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
