Well the History quiz which has been running over in the Society page has got a little bit boring (ie they're asking questions I haven't got a rat's ass clue about :-)) so I thought: why not start a sport's quiz?

All those in favour, try and guess the answer to this one.

First person with a correct answer gets to ask the next question.

Slightly obscure but should be easy to work out.

Which current England rugby international has the middle names Bruno and Nero?

Yep, its BIG Bill Werbeniuk. He had to drink at least 8 or 9 pints of lager before he played & a pint for every frame (good thing he didn't make it through to to many finals at that rate) to stop him from shaking.

In one match, he downed 28 pints of lager and 16 whiskies over the course of 11 frames. He lost & went home and drank a bottle of Scotch to drown his sorrows.

    And your Question please.

Would it be the Flanagan Cup By any Chance?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,018 ✭✭✭Hairy Homer

Just to confirm that the Dutch brothers were indeed Willi "I'll break your legs if you come within spitting distance" and Rene "Maybe that's why I learned to run so bloody fast" Van Der Kherkoff.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,018 ✭✭✭Hairy Homer

Looks like you stumped everyone with that one, Muppet. Just goes to show how few people outside of the US of A give a rat's ass about any of their introverted sports.

Care to give us the answer and then another question?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,604 ✭✭✭LizardKing

might Sumo wrestler be Masaru Hanada
